Now that's what I call a nice weekend

We've been cursed with very wet, cloudy weather for weeks, but hey... it's Juneau. We were fortunate to have a nice day last Monday, but most of us were lamenting having to be indoors in our offices that day.

Well, our patience paid off this weekend. It was BEAU-TI-FUL all weekend. Someone at work said it best the other day, "Juneau can be the greyest place on Earth, and the most colorful place on Earth". It just depends on sunshine. We put up with the bad weather just so that we can enjoy days (and whole weekends) like this.

Here are some photos that tell the tale of this past weekend...

Dent and the Chilkat Mountains

We drove out to the end of the road (40 miles north of downtown)

I live at the end of the road on the south side of town. Lots of cars parked at the trailhead here!

My hunny and Samson the Dog
I bought a bike the other day. Her name is Oliver.
First ride out on Oliver. What a glorious day!!

Even Kameko got to enjoy the sunshine

Sunning herself

We also celebrated Miss Tawney's 31st birthday on Friday! We were blessed with dry weather and had a bonfire. We almost burned the house down.

Every bonfire needs a shop-vac attached to a ventilation pipe

...and when the palettes catch fire early...

Don't bother putting them in the barrel. It'll be alright.

Oh, and we had Chocolate Mouthgasm Cupcakes from B's Bistro
Twas a good weekend.
